Which Medicaid Plans We Accept

We accept the following Florida Medicaid and Healthy Kids dental plans. Each has an age range set by the plan:

• DentaQuest Healthy Kids (Medicaid): ages 9 to 20
• MCNA Healthy Kids: ages 11 to 18
• Liberty Dental Medicaid: ages 11 to 20

These plans cover endodontic treatment on permanent teeth for eligible children and teens. Most Medicaid dental plans require a referral from the child's assigned primary dentist before specialist treatment, and some require pre-authorization. Our team handles the paperwork and coordinates with the referring dentist. Call us with the child's member ID to confirm eligibility and the referral process.

We do not currently accept adult Medicaid dental plans. Adults with Medicaid can view our payment options or call to discuss alternatives.

How Medicaid Coverage Works for Endodontic Treatment

Florida Medicaid dental plans for children cover medically necessary endodontic treatment, including root canals on permanent teeth, pulpotomies, and treatment for traumatic injuries. Coverage is subject to the plan's approval process. Some procedures require pre-authorization, which our office submits on your behalf. Our team will tell you what is covered and whether any step requires plan approval before treatment begins.

Because these are state-funded plans, there is generally no copay or deductible for covered services for eligible children. If a recommended procedure is not covered by the plan, we will explain that before treatment and discuss options.

What to Bring to Your Appointment

To make your first visit smooth, bring the following:

• Your insurance card (physical or digital)
• A photo ID
• A list of current medications
• Any referral paperwork or X-rays from your general dentist

Do not delay an urgent visit because you are missing paperwork. If you are in pain, call us and we will work with what you have. We offer same-day emergency appointments at both offices.

• My child is 8 and has DentaQuest. Can you see them?

  DentaQuest Healthy Kids coverage at our office begins at age 9. For children under 9, we recommend a pediatric dentist in the DentaQuest network. Call us and we can help point you in the right direction.

• Do I need a referral for my child to see an endodontist on Medicaid?

  Usually yes. Most Florida Medicaid dental plans require a referral from the child's assigned primary dentist before specialist care. Some also require pre-authorization. Our office coordinates both steps with the referring dentist.

• Is there a copay for Medicaid endodontic treatment?

  For covered services on eligible children, Florida Medicaid dental plans generally have no copay or deductible. We confirm coverage before treatment and tell you if anything would not be covered.

• Do you accept adult Medicaid?

  Not at this time. We accept DentaQuest, MCNA, and Liberty Medicaid plans for children and teens within the age ranges listed above. Adults can call to discuss payment options.

• Which office should I bring my child to?

  Both offices accept the pediatric Medicaid plans listed. Choose whichever is closer. Miami Lakes serves Hialeah, Doral, Miramar, and Pembroke Pines. Bay Harbor Islands serves Miami Beach, North Miami, Aventura, and Surfside.
